On June 24, 2025, EBSCOhost, our main database provider (used to search databases such as MEDLINE and CINAHL), will be migrating to a new, updated interface. The new interface will look similar to that of our Discovery Search. The migration will affect items in your MyEBSCO folder.
The EBSCOhost interface includes access to MyEBSCO, which allows users to set up a personal account to save articles, searches, alerts, etc., in an online folder. Some of these items will migrate to the new interface and others will not:
See below for instructions on saving your Search Alerts, Journal Alerts, Persistent Links to Searches, and Custom Folders prior to the migration. If you need assistance, please call the library at 859-251-4730 or email librarian@frontier.edu.
To save your previously saved Search Alerts, log into your MyEBSCO folder and click on "Search Alerts" on the left. You will see any search alerts that you have set up with the details of the alert such as search term, frequency, and database.
Note these details so that you can set up a new alert for the same search in the new interface. See the Using the New Interface page for instructions on accessing the new interface and logging in to your account. Then go to Setting Up Alerts (on that same page) for instructions on how to set up the new search alert.
To save your previously saved Journal Alerts, log into your MyEBSCO folder and click on "Journal Alerts" on the left. You will see the titles for any journals that you had alerts set up for.
Note the titles so that you can set up a new alert for the same journal in the new interface. See the Using the New Interface page for instructions on accessing the new interface and logging in to your account. Then go to Setting Up Alerts (on that same page) for instructions on how to set up the new journal alert.
To save Persistent Links to Searches, log in to your MyEBSCO folder and click on Persistent Links to Searches. You can then email or save the information as a file using the links on the right side of the page.
When you use those links after the migration, they will redirect to the new interface, and the search can be saved there. See Using the New Interface page for instructions on accessing the new interface and logging in to your account. Then go to Saving Articles and Searches in the New Interface (on that same page) for instructions on saving the search.
You will be able to download a report of items saved in Custom Folders in the new interface. If you would like to do this prior to the migration, see the information on accessing the preview of the new interface on the Using the New Interface page, then go to the Custom Folders box.
