Summer Term 2020

Training Sessions

A training session led by Gail Spake, Writing Support Specialist, and Carla Townsend, Information Services Librarian, was held on June 11, 2020 to discuss changes from the sixth edition to the seventh.

A training session on the new version of APA Academic Writer, led by a training specialist from APA Publishing, was held on July 13, 2020.

How Do I Get a New Manual?

Faculty should order a manual for themselves so that it can be shipped directly to their home office. Faculty will be reimbursed for the cost of a paperback version plus applicable sales tax.  If you prefer a hardcover or spiral-bound version you can pay the difference. The expense can be submitted on the faculty reimbursement form.

See below for a link to order directly from APA.

If you have adopted the APA Manual for your course, i.e. it is required for your course, you can request a desk copy.

Once the Publication Manual has been adopted for your course, you can request access to ancillary instructional materials.

Course Updates

During pre-term checks, instructional designers will look for APA content that needs to be updated and alert the course coordinators. Faculty can choose to delete the content, update it, and/or ask the librarians to help with updates.
