Information literacy skills will be necessary in every class you take—particularly writing courses. This Writing Commons site has guides (includes videos) to help students to 1) determine information required, 2) evaluate the credibility of primary and secondary resources, 3) communicate complex ideas in simple and clear ways, 4) research sources for your own writing, and 5) use such sources to help you explain your ideas.
This material is to augment our university's primary Information Literacy training module: Library 101.
This link takes you to a section of Writing Resources with other information about gathering and documenting information and conducting literature reviews.
For more on information literacy at FNU, see the Library 101 tutorial.
