Private Nurse Editors

The editors in the list below edit course papers that our DNP students complete in their final didactic course, in which they report their quality improvement projects. This affords our students an opportunity to work with professional editors who offer guidance to ensure their papers, written using both APA 7th and Standards for Quality Improvement Reporting Excellence (SQUIRE 2.0) guidelines.

Frontier Nursing University employs a Writing Support Specialist, Gail Spake (gail.spake@frontier.edu). For FNU faculty or administrative employees, Gail will edit professional writing projects or scholarly writing and offer coaching for writing projects. There is no fee for engaging with Gail, and she can offer coaching advice or referrals if you need advanced support (e.g., with statistical support).

The private editors listed below are all highly credentialed experts in scientific scholarly writing. You're welcome to reach out to any of them if you are interested in engaging with a professional coach to improve an article you intend to publish in a professional journal. Gail can recommend other private editors in addition to those listed below.

Fee Based Nurse Editors

Modupe Adewuyi, PhD, MSN, MPH, PHNA-BC, CHES
Dr. Adewuyi is a professor in the WellStar School of Nursing at Kennesaw State University in Georgia and is a nurse scientist. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and a Master of Science in Nursing, also from Emory University. She is certified as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and as a Public Health Nurse Advanced Board Certified (PHNA-BC). Dr. Adewuyi has earned many honors and awards as a scholar and nurse educator and as a contributor to international research and educational projects.

Dr. Baptiste is a certified nurse educator whose teaching is grounded in cutting-edge, evidence-based instructional methods with a strong commitment to health equity in practice, research, scholarship, and academic service. She is an exemplary integrated scholar who is committed to transforming patient care as well as supporting nurses of the future. Dr. Baptiste is the principal faculty for the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing’s Center for Cardiovascular and Chronic Care, guiding continuing education programs and dissemination of research from students, faculty, and international collaborators.

Dr. Nicoll is a research journal editor, free clinic coordinator, and business owner. She has taken a leadership role with the International Academy of Nurse Editors (INANE), which represents editors, publishers, authors, and peer reviewers of more than 250 vetted nursing journals.
Fee: $75/yr with a two-hour minimum ($150). Pay a $75 deposit when I agree to do the editing; the balance will be payable when the work is completed. I will send an invoice which the student can pay with a credit card (or if they prefer, they can send me a check). If the student sends their draft to me within 3 days or less until the due date (72 hours), the fee is doubled.
Sharon Jackson White, PhD, RN, CNN, FNP-BC, FNP-C
Dr. Sharon Jackson White is a professor within the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University. She is a registered nurse, a certified family nurse practitioner, and a nurse scientist. Dr. Sharon Jackson White has experience in the medical/surgical, hemodialysis, long-term care, primary care, and palliative care arenas. Her clinical work expands from direct patient care to administrative capacities. She serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine as well as a peer reviewer for several nursing and medical scholarly journals. Furthermore, she has spoken locally, nationally, and internationally as related to her palliative care research. Dr. Sharon Jackson White's research interests are palliative care, end-of-life, and quality of life.
